The Conference Board said consumer confidence rose in June to the highest level since March 2020.
Housing data also added to the positive sentiment, with data showing that U.S. home prices climbed at their fastest pace ever in April.
Stocks have been marching higher in recent weeks as investors become more confident in the economic recovery and the prospect of fresh government spending.
Investors are waiting for the June jobs report this Friday, which is expected to show the economy added 683,000 jobs.
