What Happened?
The S&P 500 and Dow Jones closed at record highs for a fifth straight day on Monday, after recovering from losses earlier in the day.
The S&P 500 is now up more than 100% since its March 2020 pandemic low – the fastest doubling of the index since 1933.
Chinese data released today showed that retail sales and factory output slowed down in July and came below analyst expectations.
