What Happened?
The S&P 500 and Dow Jones finished the week at record highs.
The recent stock rally has been driven by the acceleration of vaccinations in the U.S. as well as the Fed’s commitment to easy money policy.
This week, the IMF projected that the world economy will grow 6% this year – the fastest growth in four decades.
Overall trading volume fell considerably this week. A relatively quiet week in the stock market has sent the VIX to its lowest level since February 2020.
U.S. consumer confidence climbed in March to its highest level since the start of the pandemic last year.
